Mr. Francis Bichnord Komla Asong - Executive Director

Francis Bichnord Komla Asong is a Social Development Practitioner and the Executive Director of Africa Disability Institute, (formerly, VOICE Ghana), which is one of Ghana’s leading Non Governemental Organisation (NGO) for persons with disabilities.

He has been involved in a range of management tasks and mainstream social actions and development work since 2002, and featured in a number of national and international conferences. He is a Board member of Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII), African Society of Association Executives (AfSAE) in Kenya, and AccessAid Ghana. He is also serving on the Grants and Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Committees of the STAR Ghana Foundation, and Finance Committee of the Ghana Federation of Disability Organisations (GFD).

He is currently working on a PhD in Management Studies at LIGS University in USA, and holds an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business. He also earned chartered certifications from the Chartered Association of Business Administrators (CABA) in Canada; Chartered Management Institute (CMI), and Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM), both in UK, as well as Chartered Institute of Management and Leadership (CIML) in USA.

Francis received several awards in recognition of his roles in the civil society sector in Africa including 2015 Africa Continental Award - Welfare and Civil Society Category from CEO Global Titans, South Africa; 2018 Community Hero of Philanthropy Award from the National Philanthropy Forum, Accra, Ghana; 2019 Alumni Career Achievement Award from his former school: the Accra Business School, and 2020 Humanitarian Honour Award from the Humanitarian Awards, Ghana.
